The 2017 NACDS Annual Meeting got going on Saturday at The Phoenician in Scottsdale, Ariz.

Headlining the day’s events were Meet the Retailer sessions with CVS Health, Walgreens, Fred’s Pharmacy, Sam’s Club, Cardinal Health and The Vitamin Shoppe. NACDS also held its board of directors meeting.

“We’re very customer-first; we’re creating the very best customer solutions,” CVS Pharmacy chief merchant Judy Sansone told NACDS-TV about the company’s agreement earlier this year to provide a low-cost generic option to the EpiPen epinephrine auto-injector. “I think EpiPen was one of those solutions. It was so impressive and helped so many people do the right thing.”

“Care is really at the center of all that we do. The reality is that retailers can’t do it alone, and suppliers can’t do it alone,” said Richard Ashworth, president of pharmacy and retail operations for Walgreens, after the drug chain’s Meet the Retailer session.

In the NACDS-TV Saturday recap video, you’ll also hear from Sarah Hassan of IM HealthScience, Tim Liebmann and Mary Lou Gardner of Fred’s Pharmacy, Michael Wysong of Care Pharmacies, Dick Domann of TrialCard, Gloria Cox of Nielsen, Joseph Szala of Aimia and Todd Morris of Catalina.
