SEATTLE — Bartell Drugs and health care and benefits provider Kaiser Permanente have opened their 13th in-store CareClinic in Gig Harbor, Wash.

CareClinic_Bartell Drugs_Kaiser PermanenteThe Puget Sound-area drug chain said Thursday that the walk-in clinic, located in the Bartell Drugs store at 5500 Olympic Drive, is open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and provides treatment for minor illness and injuries, immunizations and preventive care services to residents in Gig Harbor and Key Peninsula.

“Bartell Drugs guests have told us they want the ability to get care and treatment as well as everyday necessities in one place,” John Lewis, director of CareClinic operations for Bartell Drugs, said in a statement. “That’s why we’re so excited to continue our expansion in order to offer our services to more communities around the region.”

Plans call for Bartell Drugs and Kaiser Permanente to open two more CareClinics this summer at the chain’s stores in Snoqualmie Ridge and Redmond Town Center.

Open to both Kaiser Permanente members and nonmembers ages 2 and older, CareClinics are operated by Kaiser Permanente health care staff. For patients without health insurance coverage, the cost of a visit is $75. Diagnosis and treatment plans are included in a secure electronic health record and can be shared with a patient’s primary care doctor or other providers for improved coordination of care.

“Patients come to our CareClinics for quality and convenient care,” stated CareClinic chief and Kaiser Permanente clinician Michael Erickson. “We’ve proven that CareClinics live up to the promise of quickly diagnosing and treating common ailments. We get you in, taken care of and on your way for an affordable price.”

Overall, Bartell Drugs operates 65 drug stores in Washington’s King, Snohomish and Pierce counties.
