SEATTLE — Bartell Drugs has become the first drug chain offering free two-hour delivery through the Amazon.com Prime Now service.

Amazon Prime Now members in Greater Seattle can shop for thousands of health and beauty aids, groceries and snacks from Bartells — including local products — and have them delivered to their door within 120 minutes.

Delivery from Bartells is available to customers in selected ZIP codes and is expanding rapidly. The service is offered Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.

On November 26, Bartells encouraged area residents to “Shop Local” with a chainwide event including special sampling events at the Crossroads store in Bellevue, Wash., and at three Seattle stores — at Fifth and Olive Streets and in Lower Queen Anne and Magnolia.
Also, the retailer’s gift guide is available in stores and online at www.bartelldrugs.com/giftguide. Prime Now members can order gift guide items along with other Bartells ­merchandise.

And the Magnolia and Crossroads stores offer their customers chances to win custom baskets featuring holiday items from the guide.
