Benzer Pharmacy_Livingston_featuredTAMPA, Fla. — Benzer Pharmacy has acquired Acme Pharmacy in Mango, Fla., which will mark the third location that the drug chain has added so far this year.

The Acme store is being rebranded as Benzer Pharmacy and will continue to provide pharmacy and other health services to the surrounding communities, the drug chain said.

“This is the third pharmacy to open in 2016. Two other stores opened last month in Zephyrhills, Fla., and Hendersonville, Tennessee,” stated Vinit Patel, pharmacist at the new location in Mango. “In 2016, Benzer Pharmacy plans to open between 20 to 30 new pharmacies. I believe the pharmacy is already on track with its third pharmacy just weeks into the year.”

Along with traditional retail pharmacy services and over-the-counter products, Benzer offers immunizations, health consultations and personalized care. The chain also specializes in specialty drugs and medication management programs for people with complex chronic diseases, including hepatitis, HIV, multiple sclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis, dermatology and intravenous immunoglobulin.

The Zephyrhills-area location, situated in Wesley Chapel and opened late last month, was formerly Anointed Pharmacy and has been rebranded to the Benzer banner.

“I am extremely excited that Benzer Pharmacy is gaining strength in the pharmacy industry with new acquisitions,” commented John Cox, pharmacy operations manager at Benzer.

Benzer executives have previously said that through its recently launched Trade Name Use model, which provides a turnkey solution for independent pharmacies to rebrand to Benzer, the company can grow to an additional 600 stores. For a monthly license fee of $800, independents switching to Benzer receive such benefits as increased brand recognition, group purchasing power and combined cost of goods (supplies, utilities, vials, labels, etc.) and predesigned marketing materials, the company said.

“Independents need a common identity and platform to leverage their collective strength. Therefore, to thrive among chain pharmacies, independent pharmacy owners need to collaborate under one unique yet individual brand,” John explained. “Rebranding to Benzer Pharmacy helps [independents] establish brand recognition while still maintaining integrity as an independent pharmacy. Then the pharmacy owner can focus on patient care,” he added.

Overall, Benzer Pharmacy has more than 50 locations in Florida, Michigan, Virginia, North Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Georgia, Nevada and Louisiana.
