TORONTO — The Neighbourhood Pharmacy Association of Canada (Neighbourhood Pharmacies) has named Jeff Leger, executive vice president of pharmacy and health care at Loblaw Cos. and Shoppers Drug Mart, as the new chair of the association.

“I am very pleased to take on this leadership role and to work with the staff and members of Neighbourhood Pharmacies to deliver consistent and sustainable solutions for every sector in the broad pharmacy ecosystem,” Leger stated. “Only by working in a truly united and collaborative way can Neighbourhood Pharmacies members continue to deliver the most easily accessible and highest-quality professional patient care services on which all Canadians rely.”

Leger will serve for a two-year term.

“We look forward to working closely with Jeff as our chair for the next two years,” commented Neighbourhood Pharmacies chief executive officer Justin Bates. “With Jeff’s vision and focus, we will continue building on the credible and trusted relationships with our stakeholders to influence and help shape health care policy at both provincial/territorial and federal levels.”
