Chain Drug Review held a reception in Manhattan earlier this month to honor recipients of the publication’s Retailer of the Year awards.

CVS Health president and chief executive officer Larry Merlo named Health Care Executive of the Year, and Walgreens president of pharmacy and retail operations Richard Ashworth was named as Operations Executive of the Year.

Leaders from two chain drug organizations were honored for their contributions to the industry as well. Steve Anderson, president and CEO of the National Association of Chain Drug Stores (NACDS), received the Industry Leadership Award, while Jim Devine, the recently retired president of the Chain Drug Marketing Association (CDMA), was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award.

Also on hand at the event were other executives from the honored companies and organizations as well as from supplier partners.
