Navarro names celebrity spokesman

MIAMI – Television personality and cookbook author Chef Pepin has become the celebrity spokesman for Navarro Discount Pharmacy.
The Miami-area drug store chain said Friday that adding Chef Pepin as a celebrity spokesman is part of its overall marketing campaign and expansion strategy.
Besides promoting a healthy lifestyle, Chef Pepin will assist with the promotion of Navarro's extensive line of household appliances, available in stores and soon-to-be online, according to the retailer.
Navarro noted that educating families about a healthy lifestyle is a linchpin of its recently expanded Diabetes Club, which focuses on nutrition, exercise and prevention for adults and children. Plans call for Chef Pepin, the leading celebrity cook on Hispanic television, to educate parents and children about good eating habits, which foods to eat and which foods to avoid in live demonstrations at Navarro's 28 stores.
"Chef Pepin is an icon to Hispanics and Latinos everywhere," Steve Kaczynski, chief executive officer of Navarro Discount Pharmacy, said in a statement. "Together, we will educate Hispanics about adopting a healthier approach to food and how to cook healthy."
