Pharmaca unveils Natural Beauty Bar

July 9th, 2012
Offering spa services, Pharmaca's Natural Beauty Bar features a Brow Bar and a Makeup Area.

BOULDER, Colo. – Pharmaca Integrative Pharmacy has introduced the Natural Beauty Bar, a new concept aimed at enhancing the chain's identity as a beauty care destination in the Los Angeles area.

Pharmaca said Monday that the Natural Beauty Bar, launched at its Pacific Palisades, Calif., store, serves up a menu of spa services, including waxing, threading, and makeup and lash applications, along with the retailer's collection of natural facial care and cosmetics.

The 1,000-square-foot Natural Beauty Bar centers around the Brow Bar, which has two chairs for waxing and threading services (for brows, lip, chin, forehead, sideburn or full face), and the Makeup Area, which offers four chairs for makeup application and makeovers, including eye makeup application and consultation and full makeover and consultation.

Customers can make an appointment or walk in during select store hours to receive Beauty Bar services from one of Pharmaca's on-staff estheticians. The bar also is situated amid  Pharmaca's selection of natural skin care and cosmetics from brands such as jane iredale, Dr. Hauschka, Evanhealy and Suki.

"We're thrilled to be extending our hands-on practitioner model from skin care and makeup expertise to these beauty services," Tiana Ukleja, Pharmaca's health and beauty category manager, said in a statement.

Ukleja noted that the Natural Beauty Bar concept arose in response to a rising demand from customers for waxing and cosmetic services that use in salon-quality skin care and cosmetics. "These are services that women used to have to go elsewhere for. We hope that
they’ll take advantage of being able to pick up their favorite beauty products and
get a brow wax, all in one spot," she explained.

To kick off the opening of the Natural Beauty Bar, Pharmaca plans to host grand
opening events Friday through Sunday. Customers will be able to experience Beauty Bar services and receive free gifts with purchase over the weekend. On Friday, a representative from SpaRitual Nail Lacquers will also be on hand to offer free nail polish changes using the latest shades from the company's Water Collection and other lines, Pharmaca said.

In addition, customers who spend $100 on cosmetics or facial care products at
Pharmaca will get a complimentary mini-makeover at the Natural Beauty Bar, the retailer added. And for members of Pharmaca's Feel Better Rewards loyalty program, for every five brow shaping services they purchase (waxing or threading), they will receive a sixth free.
