Quick Sticks hit shelves at Walgreens, Walmart

October 2nd, 2012

DALLAS – QS Holdings Inc. has landed national distribution for its Quick Sticks fast-dissolve glucose supplement at Walgreens and Walmart.

Quick Sticks come in boxes of a dozen 10g packets.

The company said Tuesday that during October, Walgreens and Walmart will will begin stocking their shelves with Quick Sticks' sour apple and watermelon flavors.

Quick Sticks are a quick-dissolve glucose supplement aimed at helping diabetics and people with hypoglycemia manage their blood sugar levels.

Offered in easy-to-carry, flavored powder packets, Quick Sticks provide a healthy boost of glucose for diabetics and people with hypoglycemia who need to raise their blood sugar fast. Though spreading out meals and eating resistant starch foods can help, it's unrealistic for most people with these conditions to maintain those strategies on a daily basis, QS Holdings noted. Quick Sticks make it easier to treat symptoms of low blood sugar, and their smaller particle size enable faster dissolution, the company said.

The individual sticks come in a box of 12, retailing for $5.24 to $6.49, and there's 10 grams of glucose per stick. The sticks are easily stored in a purse, lunchbox, backpack, pocket or desk drawer until needed. Consumers can find the sticks in the pharmacy section of stores, near other diabetes-related products such as blood sugar test strips and glucose meters.

QS Holdings said the national rollout will have the product in over 3,400 Walmart locations and more than 7,000 Walgreens drug stores. The product can also be found in select H-E-B and Kroger stores.

"We're very excited about making Quick Sticks available nationwide to those who face
the everyday challenges of hypoglycemia," stated Cole Egger, founder and president of QS Holdings. "We've been overwhelmed with positive feedback from our fans saying they love the product, so this is definitely a much-anticipated launch."
