Inside This Issue - News Walgreens, three GMMs part waysMay 25th, 2009 DEERFIELD, Ill. – Three divisional vice presidents/general merchandise managers and Walgreen Co. have parted ways. Bill Hubbs, who oversaw the seasonal and sundries mix; Arnie Silver, who was responsible for consumables; and Kathy Steirly, who oversaw beauty, have left the company.
Vice president of purchasing Dave Van Howe will temporarily oversee the three categories.
In addition, Robert Tompkins was promoted to divisional vice president/general merchandise manager and will temporarily oversee health and wellness and over-the-counter drugs.
At the same time, Walgreens named former McKinsey & Co. executive Rachel Bishop divisional vice president/general merchandise manager of strategic planning and analysis.
