Navarro health tour hits the road

June 2nd, 2014

MIAMI – Navarro Discount Pharmacy says that it has launched a Mobile Health Station that will visit south Florida neighborhoods and community events and bring medical professionals who will provide free health screenings as well as immunizations at discounted rates.

“As a community based pharmacy, we want to take action to improve the health of all people in Miami-Dade and Broward counties,” says Albert Garcia, Navarro’s executive vice president of pharmacy and president of Navarro Health Services.

Doctors, nurses, nurse practitioners, pharmacists and other health care providers will staff the facility, the company says.

Among the free services provided are tests for glucose, total cholesterol, body mass index and bone density that allow individuals to monitor their health, the company says.
Immunizations for flu and shingles are available.

“By branching out into the community, the Mobile Health Station provides people an easy way to connect with physicians, Navarro pharmacists and other health providers to address their health concerns and learn how to take better care of themselves,” Garcia says.
