IMSí Long receives Pratt Award

DENVER – IMS Health’s Doug Long was given the National Association of Chain Drug Stores’ Harold W. Pratt Award at this year’s NACDS Pharmacy & Technology Conference.

The award recognizes those whose activities have contributed to the promotion, recognition and improvement of pharmacy.Long has been involved in community pharmacy for more than 40 years, including the last 23 years at IMS Health.

He is most recognized for his annual Industry Year in Review, showcasing the trends and forecasts in the U.S. market. He is a frequent speaker for industry groups, including NACDS.

Prior to his role at IMS Health, Long served in various sales and marketing capacities for Nielsen Market Research.

The pharmacy conference also saw the NACDS Foundation members recognize exemplary work in the pharmacy by making donations in their name to the foundation.

Target Corp. vice president of health care operations John Holcomb was cited for his work with the IMS Health Pharmacy Partnership Award; Costco Wholesale senior vice president of pharmacy Vic Curtis was given the Boehringer-Ingelheim Pharmaceutical Alliance Award; and Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences associate professor of pharmacy practice Matthew Machado was given the Apotex Corp. NACDS Foundation Pharmacy Preceptor of the Year Award; and University of Southern California School of Pharmacy associate professor Jeffery Goad was given the NACDS Foundation Community Pharmacy Faculty Award.
