CALGARY, Alberta — London Drugs has opened its first “grab and go” urban store here under the LDExpress banner.

Located in Calgary’s Venator Building with direct access to Scotia Centre, the 4,000-square-foot store is a condensed version of a typical London Drugs outlet. It has a full-service pharmacy, space for two customer service specialists and a ship-to-store pickup desk for items ordered from the retailer’s online store.

“LDExpress on Stephen Avenue is here to cater to consumers who are time-starved but who also desire high-quality products and personalized customer care, which they know they can count on from London Drugs,” commented Clint Mahlman, executive vice president and chief operating officer at the Vancouver-based company.

The LDExpress store offers takeout food from Spolumbo’s Fine Foods & Deli, small housewares, cosmetics and office supplies. It also has a photo kiosk with a passport photo service.

“This store is built entirely around the customer,” explained Mahlman. “This store is all about convenience for our customers. And if you need to bring any product back for return at anytime, this can be done easily, with no hassle.”

Pharmacists at LDExpress can provide flu shots, travel vaccines, medical advice, diabetes and chronic disease management services, health screening and preventive care clinics, and medication reviews by appointment. The pharmacy team also can offer solutions to common health issues, such as allergies, cough/cold, pain management, nutrition and digestive health.
