CVS goes live with enhanced photo web site
November 2nd, 2009
WOONSOCKET, R.I. – CVS Caremark Corp. has relaunched its photo web site, adding new features and products as well as boosting its performance.
The drug store chain said Monday that the enhanced CVSPhoto.com site features faster upload speeds along with improved site navigation and product creation tools.
There's also a broader assortment of products, including new greeting card, calendar and photo book selections as well as an array of photo gifts from Disney, Marvel and Nickelodeon.
For example, customers can create DVDs, books and plates that pair their photos with their favorite cartoon, comic book character or pop star. Cartoon DVDs transform a photo into an animated character that interacts with cartoon heroes like Spiderman, Barney, the Care Bears or Dora the Explorer; Picture Me Story Books turn a child into a character in a fun visual tale; and character plates and platters display a photo alongside such characters as Mickey Mouse, Little Nemo or the Disney Princesses, according to CVS.
In addition, CVSPhoto.com provides free unlimited storage of high-resolution images, online print ordering with same-day, in-store pickup, and free shipping of any photo product to any local CVS/pharmacy. New customers to the site get 50 free photo prints upon registration, the retailer said.
"CVS/pharmacy Photo Center's new capabilities will make it easier for customers to create lasting memories with our wide variety of affordable gifts for the upcoming holiday season," Grant Pill, CVS/pharmacy vice president of merchandising, said in a statement. "The Photo Center has always presented customers with the highest-quality photo solutions, whether they need to store, share or transform their photos into creative keepsakes. We're excited to share this next evolution of CVSPhoto.com with our customers."
