BioScrip appoints new CFO
December 1st, 2010
ELMSFORD, N.Y. – David Froesel has been named executive vice president, chief financial officer and treasurer at BioScrip Inc.
The pharmacy services company said Wednesday that Froesel takes over the CFO post effective immediately. He replaces Stanley Rosenbaum, who BioScrip said will be leaving the company before the end of the year.
The appointment marks the second major executive change in about a month at BioScrip. In early November, the company announced that president and chief operating officer Richard Smith will become chief executive officer starting next year, replacing current CEO and chairman Richard Friedman, who will serve as nonexecutive chairman effective Jan. 1.
Froesel joins BioScrip from Omnicare, where he served as senior vice president and CFO from March 1996 until his retirement in December 2009. Before joining Omnicare, he spent 18 years in a variety of senior financial positions at Mallinckrodt Group Inc.
"We welcome David to the BioScrip team and are pleased to have an accomplished professional of his caliber leading our financial operations," Smith said in a statement. "The board is confident that David’s industry experience and strategic perspective will be invaluable to BioScrip in the ongoing assessment of its business and its future growth initiatives, and we look forward to his contributions."
Smith added, "On behalf of everyone at BioScrip, I would like to thank Stan for his service and leadership in creating a strong foundation for future growth as our chief financial officer. We appreciate his commitment to working with David to effect a smooth transition, and we all wish him well in his future endeavors."
