Hallmark unveils 'Girlfriends' card collection
June 22nd, 2010
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Hallmark Cards has launched the Girlfriends collection, a line of greeting cards and gifts designed to help women connect in a fun, humorous and meaningful way.
Hallmark said Tuesday that the Girlfriends collection addresses a variety of real-life situations, ranging from moments of celebration (such as birthdays, happy hours and personal achievements) to the challenging situations women face (such as relationship issues, illnesses, divorce and job stresses). Through "refreshingly honest humor," each card conveys support and celebrates friendship, strengthens bonds and reassures the recipient her friends are behind her no matter what, according to the company.
The line also features gifts that can be shared between friends, including oil cloth handbags, Lolita mini wine glass sets, a magnetic notepad and more. As with the cards, the gifts also feature humorous messages and designs.
"The bond between girlfriends is often compared to the bond between sisters, and this collection is designed to enhance that connection," commented Sarah Tobaben, Hallmark Cards' editorial director. "Ideally, the line will bring to light any of the common experiences our consumers share, and girlfriends across the country will realize their friends are there to celebrate and encourage them every step of the way."
The Girlfriends collection is available now wherever Hallmark cards are sold (gifts are only available at Hallmark Gold Crown stores). Cards start at $1.49, and gifts range in price from $1.99 to $29.95.
