EQ Smart Energy Drink to be carried by Walgreens

July 28th, 2010

LAS VEGAS – EQ Labs Inc. is slated to roll out its EQ Smart Energy Drink at Walgreens drug stores across the country.

The company said Tuesday that it plans to launch a promotion at Walgreens' Las Vegas Boulevard on Labor Day weekend, which then will serve to kick off a national rollout of the EQ Smart Energy Drink at additional Walgreens stores.

Under the promotion, one lucky buyer of the EQ Smart Energy Drink will win a free personal poker seminar from poker celebrity Vanessa Rousso, EQ Labs said. Another winner will receive a personal thrill ride from champion Baja racer T.J. Flores later this year. The company aims to add at least one additional celebrity to the promotion on Labor Day weekend.

"We intend to use our celebrity relationships to build the EQ brand not only in North America but also in Europe. We believe we'll attract a major crowd at this event," Maurice Owens, chief executive officer of EQ Labs, said in a statement.

The EQ Smart Energy Drink is an effervescent tablet that can be dissolved in any beverage to provide instant energy. It contains a blend of essential vitamins, gingko biloba and less caffeine than a cup of coffee, EQ Labs said. Besides Walgreens, the EQ energy drink is sold at Best Buy, 7-Eleven and other leading retailers.
