Scarguard sees rising market growth

GREAT NECK, N.Y. – Scarguard Labs reported that its Scarguard MD scar management product has vaulted to near the top of the category in terms of dollar sales and sales growth.
The company said Thursday that Scarguard MD was the No. 2 branded product and the fastest-growing product in the scar category, based on SymphonyIRI Group Inc. dollar sales data for the four weeks ended Aug. 8.
In addition, Scarguard MD dollar sales were up 49.5% over the prior-year period, according to Scarguard Labs.
"We are extremely pleased with the most recent consumption results showing the Scarguard MD brand outpacing all other scar brands in dollar sales growth," stated Joel Studin, Scarguard Labs chief executive officer.
"This is a result of our 2010 advertising campaign supported by Scarguard's extensive retail distribution and the fact that Scarguard, unlike some of its competitors, actually is effective in helping to prevent scar tissue and reducing old scar tissue," Studin explained. "It is important for the consumer to know which products can really help them improve the way they look, and Scarguard MD has been proven in the medical literature and has now sold more than 2 million units."
Other products from Great Neck, N.Y.-based Scarguard Labs include Scarlight MD (for lightening skin discolorations), Solarguard MD (for sun protection for scars and other sensitive skin) and Bruiseguard MD (for bruise reduction).
