Borba to launch Walgreens-exclusive skin care line

WOODLAND HILLS, Calif. – Borba Inc. plans to launch a skin care and supplement collection exclusive to Walgreen Co. next year.

The skin care cosmetics and nutraceutical specialist, founded by celebrity esthetician Scott-Vincent Borba, said late last week that the nationally distributed Walgreens capsule collection will mark its entry into the "masstige" beauty category.

The 19-piece collection ranges from advancements in skincare such as a 4-in-1 active cleanser to the first 100+ SPF cream at mass distribution, according to Borba.

In addition, a comprehensive and clinically tested supplement line encompassing weight management, anti-aging, skin clarity and stress relief in "completely new snack-based forms" will also enter the lineup, priced from $9.99, the company said.

To help kick off the national January 2011 debut, Scott-Vincent Borba — who's known as the father of the "super-fruit skin care movement" — has also authored a beauty book based on his "inside out" approach, titled Skintervention: The Personalized Solution for Healthier, Younger, and Flawless-Looking Skin. The book highlights his passion for skin care and innovative, global ingredients like acai, secret celebrity tips, skin-benefiting recipes, lifestyle recommendations and celebrity testimonials.
