CoverGirl signs Taylor Swift for new cosmetics line
December 8th, 2010
HUNT VALLEY, Md. – Grammy-winning singer Taylor Swift has signed up with CoverGirl to represent a new-generation luxury makeup line called NatureLuxe.
The Procter & Gamble cosmetics brand said Wednesday that the new line, slated to become available at mass retailers nationwide in January, includes NatureLuxe Silk Foundation and NatureLuxe Gloss Balm, inspired by a new definition of luxury in beauty care and fashion that "moves away from overstated, heavy opulence to simple, high-quality experiences."
Swift's ads for the NatureLuxe products are due to appear beginning in January.
"Taylor's naturally polished and beautiful look fits perfectly with the new luxury makeup line," commented Vince Hudson, general manager of CoverGirl Cosmetics. "We specifically designed this line for women who, just like Taylor, want high-quality products that flatter her lifestyle and environment. NatureLuxe provides luxury that isn't extravagant but rather simple, modern elegance that is inspired by nature."
CoverGirl said NatureLuxe Silk Foundation is for the woman who wants a full-coverage foundation that looks polished but feels lightweight. The formula contains hints of natural jojoba and rosehip extracts along with cucumber water, a lighter, more luxurious alternative to a heavier feeling emollient.
Meanwhile, the NatureLuxe Gloss Balm is a luxurious, lightweight blend containing mango butter, shea and other butters in exchange for heavier-feeling emollients. The formula is designed to provide a light, silky application and a luxurious lip feel and finish that isn't heavy or sticky.
"I'm really excited for people to discover the new NatureLuxe line from CoverGirl," Swift said in a statement. "The Silk Foundation and Gloss Balm are really light and fresh, they feel amazing on my skin."
