January 21st, 2011

NEW YORK – Coty Inc. has partnered with supermodel Heidi Klum to develop and market a new celebrity signature fragrance.

Called Heidi Klum Shine, the new fragrance is expected to launch in the fall, Coty said Friday. Marketing plans for the product are currently in development, and additional information will be announced closer to the launch date, according to the company.

"We are excited to work with Heidi and capture her energy and femininity in her new signature fragrance," commented Bernd Beetz, chief executive officer of Coty. "Heidi is an international powerhouse and role model, and her fragrance will bring her even closer to her adoring fans around the world. Heidi's natural beauty radiates from the inside out and is the perfect addition to the Coty family."

Coty said Heidi Klum Shine will be distributed worldwide and that the fragrance will be managed by the company's Coty Beauty division.

The Coty Beauty brand portfolio is more widely distributed and includes adidas, ASTOR, Baby Phat, Beyonce Knowles, Celine Dion, Chupa Chups, David and Victoria Beckham, Esprit, Exclamation, Faith Hill, GUESS, Halle Berry, Jovan, Kate Moss, Kylie Minogue, La Cross, Lady Gaga, Manhattan, Manhattan Clearface, Miss Sporty, Nautica, N.Y.C. New York Color, Nicole by OPI, OPI, Pierre Cardin, Playboy, Rimmel, Sally Hansen, Stetson, Tim McGraw, TJoy and Tonino Lamborghini.

"I am thrilled to be partnering with Coty on my new fragrance," Klum said in a statement. "Working for a long time on developing a signature scent and watching it finally come to life is so exciting. I never thought my nose would recover from sniffing so many scent combinations but it is all worth it. I want my fragrance to be truly special and head-turning so that people ask the woman who's wearing it, 'What are you wearing? You smell delicious!' "

In addition to her modeling career, Klum has gone on to create an extensive portfolio that includes designing an active wear collection called Heidi Klum for New Balance and being the artistic adviser and face of European cosmetic company ASTOR. She also executive produces and hosts three television shows: "Project Runway" and "Seriously Funny Kids" on Lifetime and Germany's "Next Top Model by Heidi Klum".
