Kidz-Med VeraTemp coming to Canadian drug stores
February 28th, 2011
WESTON, Fla. – American Scientific Resources Inc. has signed Associated National Brokerage (ANB) to distribute its Kidz-Med VeraTemp noncontact thermometers to chain drug stores in Canada.
American Scientific said ANB Canada will leverage its presence in the Canadian drug chain market to place the Kidz-Med VeraTemp in pharmacies throughout Canada by this fall.
"ANB Canada is recognized as a leader in retail pharmacy distribution in Canada," stated Marc Massoglia, senior vice president of sales at American Scientific Resources. "ANB is expected to start taking delivery of the Kidz-Med VeraTemp in June for on-shelf placement starting in August. We expect to be in the Canadian pharmacies by October or so."
ANB Canada has agreed to buy at least 20,000 units over the next 12 months, according to American Scientific. "This is an important step in our partnership, as this initial order will be a building block for future years of orders and is expected to open the doors for the introduction of new products," commented Massoglia.
Billed as a "no-touch" thermometer, the Kidz-Med VeraTemp takes an infant or child's core body temperature via the forehead. The contact-free device also can read the temperature of an infant's nursery, bath water, formula or food. It produces an instant reading, and a backlit display enables parents to take a temperature in the dark while a child sleeps, the company said on the Kidz-Med web site.
Chain drug retailers that currently carry the Kidz-Med VeraTemp thermometer in the United States include CVS, Duane Reade, Bartell Drugs, Fred Meyer and Price Chopper.
"ANB is excited to be the exclusive distributor for American Scientific Resources in Canada," stated Steve Stubbs, president of ANB Canada. "We look forward to introducing and growing their Kidz-Med VeraTemp noncontact brand while redefining the thermometry category."
