HDMA honors Cardinal Health executive
March 10th, 2011
ARLINGTON, Va. – The Healthcare Distribution Management Association (HDMA) has presented Neil Warren of Cardinal Health Inc. with its Distribution Management Award for Career Achievement.
Warren is vice president of industry and supplier relations at Dublin, Ohio-based Cardinal Health. HDMA said this week that the award, presented at its 2011 Distribution Management Conference and Technology Expo in Tampa, Fla., recognizes a distribution industry professional with at least 15 years of service who demonstrates the highest standards of integrity, has made significant contributions to the health care distribution industry, and is respected by peers and trading partners.
During his 25-year career in health care distribution, including the last 15 at Cardinal, Warren has worked to foster effective, collaborative trading partner relationships and develop innovative solutions to enhance supply-chain security and efficiency, according to HDMA.
"People at all levels of the industry admire and respect Neil for his depth of knowledge, his ability to forge lasting connections and his role as a champion of the distribution industry," John Gray, president and chief executive officer of HDMA, said in a statement. "We are proud to recognize his outstanding contributions to the industry and the association."
In the past 10 years as Cardinal's vice president of industry and supplier relations, Warren has served as a trusted point of contact for all of the distributor's suppliers, including branded, generic and consumer health manufacturers, HDMA noted. And over the years he has assisted in developing creative programs to drive supplier behavior and value-added solutions for trading partners, as well as excelled in welcoming new suppliers and advising them on how best to collaborate with Cardinal to successfully launch new products, the association said.
Warren, too, is known and respected for his industry expertise, including in such areas as bar coding, pedigree, returns, supply-chain integrity and other legislative affairs, HDMA added. He has many years of service on several HDMA committees, including on HDMA's Returns Task Force, Emergency Preparedness and Influenza Task Force, and various research and advisory committees.
In addition, HDMA said, Warren has received a number of awards and honors, including HDMA's Innovation for Success Award and the Cardinal Health Robert D. Walter Founder's Award.
