Qualitest approved for toresmide tablets

March 25th, 2011

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Qualitest Pharmaceuticals has received clearance for toresmide tablets, a diuretic medication.

The Endo Pharmaceuticals subsidiary said Thursday that the Food and Drug Administration has approved toresmide tablets in 5 mg, 10 mg, 20 mg and 100 mg strengths.

The product is a generic version of Demadex tablets, made by Roche.

Toresmide tablets are indicated for the treatment of edema associated with congestive heart failure, renal disease or hepatic disease, as well as for the treatment of hypertension alone or in combination with other antihypertensive agents, according to Qualitest.
