March 25th, 2011
CHICAGO – SymphonyIRI Group Inc. has announced the roster of keynote speakers from the consumer packaged goods (CPG), retail and health care industries for its Summit 2011 next week in Miami Beach, Fla.
The marker research firm said Thursday that this year's Summit, to be held March 28 to 30 at the Fontainebleau Miami Beach, will carry the theme of "Gaining the Competitive Edge."
Noting that "shopper-centric innovation is the cornerstone to winning in the new world," SymphonyIRI said the summit agenda will spotlight the key issues of shopper understanding, pricing and promotion, loyalty programs, advanced analytics and merchandising technologies.
Retailer speakers include Rob Price, senior vice president and chief marketing officer for CVS/pharmacy, whose presentation is titled "The Changing Face of Retail Health Care," as well as Tony Rogers, senior vice president of brand marketing at Walmart. Ed Porter, vice president of consumer and business insights at Ahold, will take part in an expert roundtable titled, "Future Look: Architecting Shopper Marketing and Insights Collaboration Strategies to Win."
Manufacturer speakers include executives from PepsiCo, Johnson & Johnson and ConAgra. Other presenters include business management expert Gary Hamel and Moody's Analytics chief economist Mark Zandi.
"The 'new normal' is an intensely competitive world where every single leg up matters for retailers and manufacturers, who are doing everything they can to compete and win with shoppers," SymphonyIRI stated. "Because shoppers will separate the winners from the losers this year, Summit 2011 will focus on 'Gaining the Competitive Edge.' "
