Wrigley offers personalized Extra gum packs

CHICAGO – Wm. Wrigley Jr. Co. is enabling chewers of its Extra sugar-free gum to create and buy personalized packs featuring their photos and designs via its first-ever custom-packaging offer, dubbed MyExtra.

Under the program unveiled Monday, consumers can visit www.MyExtraGum.com and upload photos and messages, for example, to celebrate and remember a variety of occasions such as weddings, baby showers, birthdays and vacations, the chewing gum and candy maker said.

"Not only is MyExtra an exciting innovation as Wrigley's first ever custom-packaging offer, but it also allows us to help fans of Extra gum celebrate and share important moments in their lives, whether they are creating gifts, favors or personal keepsakes," commented Julie Goldman, managing director for Wrigley Global Upstream Innovation.

At MyExtraGum.com, consumers begin the ordering process by choosing a specific theme and template and then personalize the pack by adding a message and photo of their choice. During the ordering process, they can also choose to share their finished designs with other users in the gallery.

The custom Slim Packs contain 15 sticks of Extra sugar-free gum and cost $4.99 each. The packs are available in three flavors: Extra Peppermint, Spearmint and Sweet Watermelon.

Wrigley said it takes between 14 and 21 days to print and ship the personalized packs, depending on the shipping method.
