Head & Shoulders tips cap to MLB great plays

June 30th, 2011

CINCINNATI – Head & Shoulders has kicked off "Head & Shoulders Hats Off," a social movement designed to salute Major League Baseball (MLB) teams for their accomplishments on the field.

The Procter & Gamble dandruff shampoo brand said Thursday that Minnesota Twins catcher Joe Mauer, a brand ambassador for Head & Shoulders, MLB's official shampoo, is leading the effort by encouraging fans to join the celebration on the shampoo's official Twitter handle @HSforMen for the opportunity to support a great cause.

Fans can give a "virtual tip of the cap" for great plays on the field by tweeting the player's team hashtag that can be found at the Head & Shoulders for Men Facebook fan page. At the end of the season, Head & Shoulders will make a donation to the national MLB Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities (RBI) Program and a donation directly to the local RBI Chapter of the MLB team that earns the most Hats Off tweets, according to P&G.

"With this program, Head & Shoulders is encouraging fans to recognize stellar achievements on the field. Whether it's a walk-off home run in the bottom of the ninth or a seemingly impossible catch of a foul ball, we want to celebrate these entertaining accomplishments," stated April Anslinger, North America brand manager of Head & Shoulders at P&G.

Commented Mauer, "Head & Shoulders' Hats Off is a great way for fans to recognize MLB players for their hard work and dedication this season. I am excited to be part of it, and happy that it gives fans the opportunity to help support a great cause."
