Carmex adds pump to skin care line

September 28th, 2011

MILWAUKEE – Carma Laboratories Inc. has expanded its skin care line with Carmex Healing Lotion in a new 13-ounce pump.

Carmex Healing Lotion features aloe and vitamin E to moisturize, heal and protect skin from dryness, and it has a light, fresh scent and is formulated for daily use, Carma said. The suggested retail price for the pump is $10.99.

In addition to the new 13-ounce pump, Carmex Healing Lotion is available in a 5.5-ounce tube for $5.99 and a 1-ounce trial-size tube that retails for 99 cents.

With the new lotion pump, along with other trial and travel sizes, Carma has developed its skin care line into multiple product sizes for a variety of customer uses.

Last year marked the debut of the Carmex skin care line with the introduction of Carmex Healing Lotion and Carmex Healing Cream, the brand's first products outside the lip balm category. The company said the two skin care formulas use a patent-pending process and rich healing ingredients to soothe, moisturize and help repair even the driest, roughest skin.

Carmex Healing Cream is a richer, more concentrated formula that helps repair extremely dry, rough or cracked areas, according to Carma. It features nine concentrated healing and moisturizing ingredients and can be used anywhere on the body. It is particularly effective on areas prone to extreme dryness like the hands, feet, elbows and knees, the company noted. The cream comes in a 4-ounce tube for $5.99 and is also available in a 2-ounce travel-size tube with a retail price of $2.99 and a 0.75-ounce trial-size tube that retails for 99 cents.

"Carmex fans have embraced our skin care line since we unveiled the Healing Lotion and Healing Cream last year," commented Paul Woelbing, president of Carma Laboratories. "Our goal was to leverage the healing power of Carmex to develop a family of skin care products that work as well as our popular lip balm. We are excited that we now offer two Carmex skin care formulas in a variety of sizes to serve virtually every customer need."

Originally available exclusively at Walgreens and Walgreens.com, Carmex skin care products are now available and will be seen this fall at most national chain drug and retail stores, including Walmart, CVS, Meijer and drugstore.com, Carma said.
