Vicks kicks off NFL fan contest

September 26th, 2011

CINCINNATI – With the National Football League season now under way, Procter & Gamble's Vicks NyQuil and DayQuil cold/cough/flu medicine brands have launched their "Most Dedicated Fan" contest on Facebook.

P&G said Monday that the social media contest will reward the NFL fan who "doesn’t miss a moment of the NFL season, despite a losing season, away games, sub-zero temperatures or even the flu" with two tickets to Super Bowl XLVI. Fans can enter at Facebook.com/NyQuil.

This year, Vicks wants to hear how NFL fans out-cheer the opposing team in the stands by submitting a personalized fan rally cry. One fan from each of the 32 NFL teams will be chosen as a semifinalist to face off for a trip to Super Bowl XLVI. Each entrant will also receive a promo code to NFLshop.com.

New Orleans Saints Quarterback Drew Brees also is back this year with Vicks to find the most dedicated NFL fan. "In the NFL there are no sick days, and that remains true for both the players and fans," remarked Brees. "I'm excited to partner with Vicks NyQuil and DayQuil for a second year on the 'Most Dedicated Fan' contest. Fans are such an integral part of the game, and we're looking to reward the most dedicated and enthusiastic fans in the NFL."

A grand prize winner will be chosen Jan. 10. Submissions are accepted through midnight on Oct. 23, and beginning Nov. 11, fans can vote for which semifinalist they think should win an all-expense paid trip for two to Super Bowl XLVI in Indianapolis. Throughout the contest, fans can visit Facebook.com/NyQuil for the chance to win an assortment of prizes by clicking on the SWAG tab.

"Vicks continues to work with the NFL to recognize fans whose dedication to the football season matches our dedication to providing fans and players with the cold and flu symptom relief products they've come to rely on," commented Andy Cipra, brand manager for Vicks North America. "Vicks NyQuil and Vicks DayQuil help relieve cold and flu symptoms so fans and players never have to worry about missing a game, or moment of the season to a cold."

In the United States, the Vicks product roster includes NyQuil, NyQuil Sinex, Children's NyQuil, DayQuil Cold/Flu LiquiCaps, DayQuil Cold/Flu, DayQuil Cough, DayQuil Sinex, VapoRub Ointment, VapoRub Cream, BabyRub, Vicks Formula 44 Custom Care Chesty Cough, Vicks Formula 44 Custom Care Dry Cough, Vicks Formula 44 Custom Care Cough & Cold PM, Sinex 12-Hour Spray, Sinex Ultra Fine Mist, Sinex 12-Hour Ultra Fine Mist Moisturizing and Vicks VapoDrops.
