Stopain to hit store shelves in Canada
October 3rd, 2011
CINCINNATI – Topical pain reliever Stopain is slated to become available to Canadian customers for the first time.
Troy Healthcare, the maker of Stopain, said Monday that the topical analgesic will be rolled out to retailers across Canada this month through a partnership with ANB Canada.
"We are excited to introduce the Stopain brand to Canada," commentedd Anthony Cicini, vice president at Troy Healthcare. "Stopain has achieved a remarkable level of brand loyalty in the United States and continues to outpace the fast-growing category of topical analgesics. Canadian consumers, just as Americans, are seeking products that offer quality ingredients, authentic manufacturing and are opting for topical pain relief."
Stopain is designed to provide temporary relief for minor pains, muscle aches and stiffness commonly associated with arthritis. Stopain Extra Strength Spray and Stopain Extra Strength Roll-On, both top selling products in the United States, will be available to Canadian shoppers, according to Troy Healthcare. In Canada, Stopain will feature bilingual packaging for French- and English-speaking consumers.
Troy Healthcare, a subsidiary of Troy Manufacturing Inc., acquired Stopain in January from DRJ Group Inc.
According to SymphonyIRI data, Stopain experienced record growth of nearly 19% in dollar sales from August 2010 to August 2011, outpacing a category that saw a growth of 9% during the same period, Troy Healthcare reported.
More than 25,000 national chain and independent pharmacies, as well as mass market and food retailers throughout the United States, carry the Stopain family of products, which includes gel, sprays and roll-on pain relievers. Chain drug retailers offering Stopain products include Walgreens, CVS, Rite Aid, Walmart and Meijer.
