Kao names U.S. president as part of strategic realignment
January 23rd, 2012
CINCINNATI – Kao Corp. has appointed John Nosek President of Kao USA Inc., a beauty care company that merges Kao's prestige, mass and salon businesses in the United States.
Kao said Monday that as a part of a move to integrate its beauty care products business, starting this month the company's beauty subsidiaries in North America and Europe will run as unified organizations in the major nations where in which they operate.
As Kao USA president, Nosek will oversee the Consumer Products Business, Professional Salon Business and Molton Brown USA Inc. The Kao USA brand portfolio includes Ban antiperspirants; Jergens and Curel hand and body lotions; Biore facial care; and John Frieda hair care, along with Goldwell and KMS California professional hair care and Molton Brown products for body and home.
The company noted that previously its key beauty business units subsidiaries all operated as independent businesses in the North America and Europe. Under Nosek's direction, in the United States these subsidiaries will be unified with an emphasis on standardization of work practices and integration of information technology systems.
The global management approach, according to Kao, stands to give the company increased leverage in target markets and enable it to marshal its combined experience and resources to spur growth in the United States.
"John has had such a strong track record at Kao Brands, and I'm confident he will continue his significant achievements in his new role," stated Bill Gentner, president of Kao Consumer Products for the Americas and EMEA. "I can't think of a better leader to guide the process of unifying the Kao USA holdings."
Nosek joined Kao Brands Co. in 2006 as vice president of sales and was named general manager for Kao Brands Co. U.S. in 2008. Before joining Kao Brands, he held executive positions in the consumer products arena with such companies as L'Oreal USA and Bristol-Myers Squibb.
