Pepto-Bismol adds 'to go' product

May 2nd, 2012

CINCINNATI – Procter & Gamble Co. has unveiled Pepto-Bismol To-Go, a more portable version of its venerable stomach remedy.

P&G said Wednesday that Pepto-Bismol To-Go takes Pepto-Bismol "outside of the medicine cabinet" by putting it in a more compact, convenient form: 12 chewable tablets in a pink plastic cylinder no larger than a lipstick tube.

That makes Pepto-Bismol To-Go easily carried in a pocket, clutch, gym bag, carry-on or beach bag, as well as well-suited for road trips stored in the glove box, according to the company. And like the standard product, the to-go version provides relief for five stomach symptoms: nausea, heartburn, indigestion, upset stomach and diarrhea.

"For more than 100 years, people have relied on Pepto as an at-home rescue brand for those times when they overdo it. However, many of our consumers aren't at home when they experience the first signs of a stomach upset," stated Phil McWaters, brand manager for Pepto-Bismol. "Pepto-Bismol To-Go can save users from their stomach troubles, wherever the road happens to take them."

Pepto-Bismol To-Go is available now at retailers nationwide in a single pack or two-pack at suggested retail prices of $3.07 and $4.87, respectively. Each cylinder package contains 12 chewable, cherry-flavored tablets.
