Divine Skin set to manufacture OTC pain reliever

June 26th, 2012

MIAMI BEACH, Fla. – Divine Skin Inc. has been granted a Drug Enforcement Agency license in tandem with its manufacturing partner to produce and distribute and other controlled substances.

Divine Skin said Tuesday that it has started working on a new over-the-counter analgesic that it believes could provide an alternative to current OTC pain relievers.

Receiving the mandatory license marks the final step in beginning the manufacture of the OTC pain reliever, according to the company.

In the United States, manufacturer revenue from internal non-narcotic analgesics, antipyretics, anti-arthritics and anti-inflammatories, including salicylates and acetaminophen, totaled $2.4 billion in 2009, according to an August 2010 report published by the U.S. Census Bureau, Divine Skin reported.

Divine Skin develops biotechnology for topical, nutritional and pharmaceutical therapies and markets its products worldwide through online and specialty retailers, cosmetics wholesalers, salons and medical offices. Its brands include DS Laboratories (personal care topical solutions), Sigma Skin (hair loss and anti-aging), Polaris Research Laboratories (hair growth formulas) and Pure Guild (botanical compounds).
