Energizer, Wahl reach settlement
August 22nd, 2012
ST. LOUIS – Energizer Holdings Inc. has settled patent infringement litigation against the Wahl Clipper Corp.
Energizer said Tuesday that its lawsuit, filed in U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois in April, claimed that primary lithium batteries supplied by Great Power Battery Co. Ltd. and packaged in various Wahl products infringed five Energizer patents.
As part of the settlement, Wahl will cease all future infringing activities, according to Energizer. The company said Energizer and Wahl also will now partner to recommend and include Energizer primary lithium batteries in future product offerings by Wahl.
Energizer added that it recently retooled the materials and construction of its AA Ultimate Lithium batteries to improve on their capabilities, and Energizer lithium batteries are recommended for use in a wide variety of high-tech devices, including those made by Nikon, Garmin, Magellan, SPOT, Bushnell, RCA and Wahl.
