Hallmark to launch Cody Simpson greeting cards

October 1st, 2012

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Hallmark Inc. next year plans to roll out a greeting card line featuring teen singing sensation Cody Simpson.

The company said Monday that the Cody Simpson greeting card collection, due out in January, will encompass more than 40 cards spotlighting the 15-year-old singer and songwriter.

With occasions and messages ranging from birthdays to "just because," the Hallmark Cody Simpson cards — announced as Simpson is set to launch his new album "Paradise" — will come in a variety of formats, including 3D cards and Cards with Sound.

According to Hallmark, the cards will showcase photos of the teen heartthrob and incorporate messages and designs celebrating Cody's passions: the Australian Gold Coast and surfing. Some cards also will include attachments, such as mini lapel pins, temporary tattoos, locker magnets or stickers.

"We've had the privilege of working with Cody since this spring, when he helped us launch Hallmark Text Bands, an interactive wristband that allows kids to trade messages by bumping fists or shaking hands," commented Jenny Hofeditz, licensing director at Hallmark. "We're excited to continue this relationship and help Cody Simpson fans connect with each other and celebrate their love for Cody with Hallmark greeting cards and other Hallmark products."

Ranging in price from $2.99 for standard greetings to $9.99 for Big Time Sound cards, the Hallmark Cody Simpson greeting cards will be available in Walmart, Walgreens and Hallmark Gold Crown stores.

Plans call for more Cody Simpson products to be announced soon, Hallmark added.

"As a songwriter who uses lyrics to connect with others, it made perfect sense for me to partner with Hallmark, the leading greeting card brand that also uses words to help people make meaningful connections," Simpson said in a statement. "I can't wait for my fans to check out my new line of Hallmark greeting cards in January, and stay tuned for more Cody Simpson and Hallmark news coming soon."
