SymphonyIRI gets set for annual summit

December 26th, 2012

LAS VEGAS – Retail executives, market forecasters and others will gather in Las Vegas to give their insights into how emerging trends are shaping the consumer packaged goods industry at the 2013 SymphonyIRI Summit in April.

The annual event is scheduled for April 15 to April 17 at the Wynn Las Vegas hotel, and executives say it will offer a rich mix of general sessions, educational best practices breakouts, an innovation showcase and numerous networking opportunities.

“In an operating environment characterized by rapidly evolving changes at home, in-store and online, sales and marketing professionals need trusted partners and new ideas to help them elevate their ability to execute while simultaneously creating innovative new strategies to find new opportunities for revenue growth acceleration,” SymphonyIRI Group Inc. president and chief executive officer Andrew Appel says.

“That’s exactly what the 2013 summit is all about,” he says. “We’ll help attendees focus on the future by thoroughly understanding ever-changing consumers and shoppers and how to effectively leverage forward-looking, predictive insights powered by traditional and emerging new world data, so they can innovate and drive profitability in today’s challenging marketplace.”

Appel, who will be one of the five keynote speakers, notes that this year’s summit is centered on the theme “Activate Your Growth Engine,” and will deliver strategies for finding growth opportunities with shoppers via cutting-edge content, predictive analytics, emerging technologies and retail best practices.

Other keynote speakers will include statistician, author and fivethirtyeight.com founder Nate Silver; Google managing director Jim Lecinski; Whole Foods Market Inc. CEO John Mackey; Peter Sheahan, CEO of ChangeLabs and the author of “Flip, Generation Y and Making It Happen”; and economist and author Michael Treacy.
