April 25th, 2013
HERSHEY, Pa. – In a flurry of executive moves, Hershey Co. has named new global and North America presidents as well as a new chief financial officer, among other changes.
The chocolate maker said late Wednesday that it has appointed Humberto Alfonso, currently CFO and chief administrative officer, as international president, overseeing all Hershey businesses outside the United States and Canada.
Taking over for Alfonso will be David Tacka, who has been named senior vice president and CFO. Tacka has held senior executive positions within the company, including chief accounting officer.
Michele Buck, currently chief growth officer, will become North America president, responsible for driving Hershey's growth in the United States and Canada.
Hershey said the changes to its global leadership team are effective May 13.
"Hershey is well-positioned in the marketplace and our momentum in the U.S. and key international markets gives us confidence in our business strategy," stated John Bilbrey, president and chief executive officer. "These organizational enhancements will help accelerate our global growth by broadening and leveraging our leadership expertise, knowledge and capabilities across the company."
In other moves, Hershey appointed E. Daniel Vucovich, who currently leads its U.S. business, as senior vice president and chief commercial officer. He takes over the latter post from D. Michael Wege, who will become senior vice president and chief growth and marketing officer.
In addition, Hershey said Waheed Zaman will join the company as senior vice president and chief administrative officer on April 29.
