Diet Coke rolls out Taylor Swift can

October 3rd, 2013

ATLANTA – The Coca-Cola Co. has introduced a collector's edition Diet Coke Taylor Swift can design that will be in stores through the fall.

The beverage giant said Thursday that the 12-ounce, limited-edition Taylor Swift can six-pack will be in retailer beverage aisles nationwide in October and November.

According to Coca-Cola, the can is part of Diet Coke's multiyear partnership with Swift as the centerpiece of the brands Stay Extraordinary platform, as well as a nod to the Grammy-winning singer's inspirational sayings and lyrics. The design features Swift's popular quote — "If you're lucky enough to be different, don't ever change" — handwritten in Diet Coke red, along with the singer's logo, wrapping the can.

In-store and point-of-sale advertising inspired by Swift also will support the launch of the new can. Visitors to MyCokeRewards.com, too, can redeem double points from collector's edition six-packs for access to Taylor Swift prizes, gear and insider information about the music star.

Coca-Cola added that Diet Coke recently featured the new packaging design in a Twitter promotion in which 13 of the brand's most loyal followers got a sneak peek at the limited-edition can before it was rolled out to stores.

"The Taylor Swift collector's edition Diet Coke can is a way for us to celebrate the individuality and creativity that inspires people to achieve their dreams and be anything but ordinary," stated Lauren Radow, associate brand manager for Diet Coke at Coca-Cola North America. "Taylor's message is simply extraordinary. We couldn't have said it better ourselves."
