Carex acquires ThermiPaq line

November 4th, 2013

NORWELL, Mass. – Carex Health Brands has purchased the ThermiPaq hot and cold therapy product line from Thermionics Corp.

Carex said Monday that ThermiPaq will add to its current roster of hot/cold therapy products, marketed under the Bed Buddy and TheraMed labels.

"We have always admired the ThermiPaq brand and its leadership in the clay hot/cold segment. The ThermiPaq products are a perfect fit for the Carex portfolio of hot/cold brands," Carex president Matt McElduff said in a statement. "This acquisition further solidifies our leadership in the market and allows Carex to improve service to our existing customers through an expanded hot/cold portfolio."

In addition to its hot/cold therapy offerings, Carex markets a variety of other home care products and durable medical equipment under the Carex, Apex, Bed Buddy and TheraMed brands.

"Carex Health Brands has long been respected for many of the same values as ThermiPaq, including quality, value and integrity," commented Thermionics founder Gregg Harwood. "I am pleased to hand over the reins to a company which shares my passion for improving the well-being of others."
