Upsher-Smith honors innovative pharmacists

MAPLE GROVE, Minn. – Upsher-Smith Laboratories Inc. is honoring the 2013 recipients of the National Alliance of State Pharmacy Associations (NASPA) Excellence in Innovation Award.

The pharmaceutical company said Monday that the award, coordinated annually by NASPA and sponsored by Upsher-Smith, recognized 42 pharmacists in 41 states for 2013.

The Excellence in Innovation Award honors qualified pharmacists who have demonstrated significant innovation in their practice, method or service, directly or indirectly resulting in improved patient care and/or advancement of the profession of pharmacy.

The award is presented by participating state pharmacist associations.

"Upsher-Smith is proud to support NASPA's efforts to recognize these talented innovators in the field of pharmacy," stated Mark Evenstad, president and chief executive officer of Upsher-Smith.
