Coty names Cesari as senior VP

NEW YORK – Catia Cesari has joined Coty Inc. as senior vice president of business development, mergers and acquisitions.
The global beauty care company said Wednesday that Cesari's appointment is effective Feb. 1. She will join Coty's executive committee and report to chief executive officer Michele Scannavini and chief financial officer Patrice de Talhouët.
Cesari will replace Peter Shaefer, who will lead special cross-functional projects and report to Scannavini.
Coty noted that Cesari brings 20 years of M&A experience to the company. Most recently, she was chief M&A and human capital officer at Labelux Group, overseeing the acquisitions and restructuring of renowned fashion brands such as Jimmy Choo, Bally and Belstaff.
Before that, at Gucci Group, Cesari was instrumental in the acquisition of global brands such as Bottega Veneta and Boucheron. She started her career with KPMG before joining General Electric, where she held various positions, including director of corporate M&A for Europe.
She is fluent in Italian, English and Spanish and will be located in Geneva, Switzerland ,as part of her role, Coty said.
