Hamacher workshop offers pharmacy channel insight

WAUKESHA, Wis. – Hamacher Resource Group is providing health and beauty aids suppliers with some primer on the community pharmacy channel.

The retail research, marketing and category management firm said Tuesday that it will hold its popular workshop, "How to Grow Sales Within Independent Pharmacy," on March 6 at its headquarters in Waukesha, Wis.

The one-day session is aimed at health, beauty and wellness (HBW) manufacturers seeking in-depth information on how to navigate the independent community pharmacy channel.

Dave Wendland, vice president at Hamacher and a member of the owners group, will lead the workshop and provide insights based on his 20-plus years of experience in the industry and longtime relationships with HBW manufacturers, wholesalers and independent pharmacies.

"Hamacher Resource Group's bird's-eye view of the HBW industry and relationships with each segment of the supply chain bring a deep and broad perspective to the wisdom we can share about how to succeed with independent pharmacies," Wendland commented.

Designed for sales and marketing managers and sales executives, the workshop covers best practices for suppliers that want to expand distribution and sales with the nation's more than 20,000 independent pharmacies via the drug wholesale channel. Topics include consumer health care trends, an overview of today's independent pharmacy sector, a "who's who" of the nation's drug wholesalers and health product distributors, how to connect with pharmacists, category reviews and in-store marketing, among other subjects.

The registration deadline for the March 6 workshop is Feb.21, and an early-bird discount is available through Feb. 7, 2014.

Hamacher said in its website that it also plans to offer the workshop on Aug. 7. That session has a July 18 registration deadline.
