True Drinks lands retail distribution at Rite Aid

January 28th, 2014

IRVINE, Calif. – Healthy beverage maker True Drinks Inc. has secured national distribution for its AquaBall Naturally Flavored Water with Rite Aid Corp.

The AquaBall Grape six-pack is one of the SKUs to be rolled out to Rite Aid stores this summer.

True Drinks said Tuesday that two of its new multipack SKUs, AquaBall Grape and Fruit Punch, will hit shelves at Rite Aid drug stores in June. Overall, Rite Aid operates nearly 4,600 stores across 31 states, including more than 1,100 locations with the drug chain's "wellness store" format.

Targeted at children, AquaBall vitamin-enhanced water was created as a zero-calorie, sugar-free alternative to juice and soda and comes in a unique round plastic container that sports eye-catching graphics.

"Rite Aid is clearly positioned as one of the leaders in the better-for-you, health and wellness space. We manufacture the healthiest kid's beverage available, a great-tasting alternative to sugary, high-caloric beverages such as carbonated soft drinks and juice," stated Lance Leonard, chief executive officer of True Drinks. "We take great pride in being able to partner with Rite Aid and have aggressive plans to link up with their wellness+ [loyalty] program to continue to focus upon, and expand, our general commitment to the overall well-being of America's children."

True Drinks soon plans to launch a multifaceted marketing campaign to communicate the AquaBall brand's position as "the healthiest beverage on the market for children today," according to Kevin Sherman, chief marketing officer.

"We plan to aggressively support AquaBall inside Rite Aid to ensure our long-term success with the brand. Our focus is on making AquaBall available for purchase within all channels across the United States. This is a big step in that direction," added Jason Dorfman, national director of sales for True Drinks. "AquaBall offers a premium product at a popular price and is a natural fit for Rite Aid and its loyal base of consumers."
