GREAT NECK, N.Y. – First Quality Tissue, a manufacturer of private-label and branded ultra-premium towel and tissue products, is readying for a strategic expansion.
The company said it plans to add two more through-air-dried (TAD) paper machines, with an estimated annual capacity of 140,000 tons, at locations slated to be announced over the next 30 days.
According to First Quality, the two new units are expected to become operational in the third quarters of 2015 and 2016, respectively.
The company added that the installation of its ATMOS tissue machine, with expected annual capacity of 70,000 tons, is well under way. The machine is slated to start up in the first quarter of 2016 at the existing Anderson, S.C., site.
First Quality added that it has already installed four TAD machines: two in Lock Haven, Pa., and two in Anderson, S.C. The new units will bring the company's total number of tissue machines to seven, with an estimated total capacity of 500,000 tons.
