FGX launches Foster Grant Crystal Vision reading glasses
March 3rd, 2014
SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Featuring an advanced lens design, the Foster Grant Crystal Vision Reading Glasses collection has been rolled out to drug stores nationwide by FGX International Inc.
FGX said Monday that the new reading glasses help reduce eye strain and sharpen viewing clarity by reducing scratching, smudging and glare.
Foster Grant Crystal Vision lenses have a patent-pending technology that includes an anti-glare coating to lessen glare from computer screens and fluorescent lighting; a second anti-glare coating to reduce glare on the outside of the lens; and an anti-smudge coating to minimize the need to clean the lenses, which is often required during extended use.
In addition, FGX said, Foster Grant Crystal Vision's durable lens material minimizes scratching, enabling the glasses to last longer than standard reading glasses.
Foster Grant Crystal Vision Reading Glasses magnify images to allow the eyes to focus on nearby objects easier — a solution for presbyopia, a natural effect of aging that leads to difficulty in reading small print, such as text found in a book, e-reader, smartphone or computer screen. The condition is common in adults over age 40, the company noted.
FGX added that it plans to support the Foster Grant Crystal Vision launch with a television commercial featuring actress and brand spokeswoman Brooke Shields.
The Foster Grant Crystal Vision collection comes in six magnification strengths as well as in stylish designs and colors for men and women. The product line can be found at select Walgreens, CVS/pharmacy and Rite Aid stores nationwide and online at FosterGrant.com, ReaderGlasses.com and Amazon.com.
