Parata Max gets high marks for air quality
May 2nd, 2014
DURHAM, N.C. – Parata Systems LLC's Parata Max pharmacy automation dispensing technology has again earned the UL Environment GreenGuard and GreenGuard Gold Certifications for low chemical emissions into indoor air during product usage.
The company said this week that Parata Max, to date, is the only pharmacy automation dispensing technology to have achieved these prestigious certifications, attaining GreenGuard Certification since 2009 and the GreenGuard Gold Certification since 2010.
Parata Max met standards set forth by GreenGuard to earn the certifications that ensure Max is qualified to run safely in environments stringently regulated for optimal health and safety.
"The GreenGuard Gold and GreenGuard Certifications are a testament to Parata's commitment to providing not only the highest performing next-generation pharmacy automation, but also the most eco-conscious and safest machines we can create," stated Tom Rhoads, chief executive officer of Parata. "We are proud to continue Parata's commitment to excellence with these certifications."
GreenGuard Certification ensures that a product has met rigorous, comprehensive standards for low emissions of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) into indoor air, according to Parata. The GreenGuard Certification Program gives assurance that products designed for use in indoor spaces meet strict chemical emissions limits, which contribute to the creation of healthier interiors. GreenGuard Gold Certification offers stricter certification criteria, considers safety factors to account for sensitive individuals (such as children and the elderly), and ensures that a product is acceptable for use in environments such as schools and health care facilities.
