QS/1 enables compatibility with tablet platform

April 28th, 2014

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – QS/1's pharmacy management systems and point-of-sale platforms can now be used with Motion Computing’s SlateMate tablet PCs.

“The SlateMate puts the power of QS/1’s applications into your hands,” says Charles Garner, marketing analyst at QS/1. “Being a PC, the SlateMate can run a QS/1 Windows client.”

SlateMate has an integrated magnetic strip reader and can be configured with a barcode scanner that allows users to process credit cards and capture signatures. Receipts can be printed on an optional wireless printer.

The tablet connects to an in-store Wi-Fi network. Beyond the store, it allows users online access via cellular hot spots or built-in 4G cellular service.

QS/1’s customers include pharmacies, long-term-care facilities and home medical equipment businesses.

Austin, Texas-based Motion Computing produces a line of rugged tablet PCs, each designed for the unique requirements of specific work flows. It also has accessories designed to satisfy demands of workers as they move from the field to the vehicle and to the office. The company’s customers are in the health care, retail, manufacturing and construction sectors.
