Ansell makes addition to SKYN condom line

May 19th, 2014

ISELIN, N.J. – Ansell Ltd., the maker of LifeStyles SKYN condoms, has expansed its SKYN Condom Collection with the introduction of SKYN Intense Feel, an enhanced version of one of the brand's most popular condom styles.

The company said Monday that SKYN Intense Feel, described as the first condom of its kind, features intensely deep studs in a unique, wavelike pattern to stimulate sensitive areas.

Introduced in 2008 as the first polyisoprene condom on the market, LifeStyles SKYN was the first clinically-approved polyisoprene condom. According to Ansell, research has shown that 66% of condom users convert to SKYN once they've experienced the benefits of polyisoprene, a softer material that more easily adapts to the form of its wearer. Also, polyisoprene stretches more than polyurethane, a widely used nonlatex condom material, so it conforms to the user for a more ergonomic fit, the company said.

The SKYN product roster now includes SKYN Original, SKYN Large, SKYN Extra Lubricated, SKYN Intense Feel and the SKYN Selection, a variety pack featuring the Original, Extra Lubricated and Intense Feel designs.

"We have been so thrilled with the reception of SKYN to the marketplace and the overwhelmingly positive consumer feedback we have received from our customers," stated Carol Carrozza, vice president of North America sales and marketing for Ansell. "Research has shown that users prefer the feel of SKYN over latex, as evidenced with a 97% satisfaction rate in consumer trials, and this is certainly reflected in the climbing sales for this premium product line."
