Walgreens exec joins TreeHouse Foods

May 28th, 2014

OAK BROOK, Ill. – Rachel Bishop, a group vice president at Walgreen Co., has been hired as senior vice president and chief strategy officer at TreeHouse Foods Inc.

The food manufacturer said Tuesday that Bishop will be a key member of the TreeHouse executive team and be based at its corporate headquarters in Oak Brook, Ill. She reports to Sam Reed Chairman, president and chief executive officer.

Previously, Bishop spent five years at Walgreens, most recently as group vice president of retail development. Before that, she consulted at McKinsey & Co. with consumer packaged goods and retailer clients on marketing, strategy and innovation.

"We are excited to have Rachel join TreeHouse during this time of great growth for our Company," Reed stated. "She has enjoyed a wide ranging and relevant career as both a management consultant and retailing executive, which positions her well to make significant contributions at TreeHouse."

TreeHouse produces a broad range of food products — including shelf-stable, refrigerated and private-label items — and primarily serves the retail grocery and foodservice distribution channels.
