MADD Virgin Drinks hit shelves at Walgreens stores

CHICAGO – MADD Virgin Drinks, a new line of ready-to-serve, alcohol-free drinks, is now available exclusively at about 2,600 Walgreens drug stores nationwide.
The eponymous company said Monday that the product launch represents an initiative by MADD Virgin Drinks and Walgreens to offer a drink option to adults who prefer not to consume alcohol, including designated drivers.
"MADD Virgin Drinks were conceived and developed by Hill Street Marketing Inc. to support Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD), both philosophically and financially," stated Brian Bolshin, president and chief executive officer of MADD Virgin Drinks. "They're intended to provide adults 21 and over with an alternative to alcohol and, in doing so, generate donations to MADD, the nation's largest nonprofit organization working to protect families from drunk driving and underage drinking. We are excited to team up with Walgreens, the nation's largest drug store chain, to reach health- and safety-conscious American consumers."
The alcohol-free MADD Virgin Drinks line includes Virgin Brut (sparkling wine), Virgin Blanc (white wine), Virgin Rouge (red wine), Virgin Margaritas, Virgin Mojitos and Virgin Craft Brewed Lager.
Despite containing no alcohol, MADD Virgin Drinks are age-restricted products at Walgreens, intended for adults seeking an alternative to alcohol, the company noted.
"We're privileged to work with MADD and MADD Virgin Drinks to offer this unique line of alcohol-free drinks in select stores as part of our effort to offer the products we think our customers will love," John Gremer, Walgreens' director of community affairs, said in a statement.
Walgreens plans to donate 5% of MADD Virgin Drinks sales to MADD in support of its ongoing efforts to prevent drunk driving and underage drinking.
